I am a research scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL) in Livermore, CA. I am also a physics instructor at San Jose State University (SJSU) in San Jose, CA. My work at LLNL is part basic science and part applied science. The basic science component covers low energy experimental nuclear physics studying collective and single-particle excitations. The goal of all of the measurements is to learn about nuclear reactions and structure. The applied component focuses on developing technologies for the national security sector. This includes performing scientific measurements to provide information for various projects. My work as a part-time physics instructor at SJSU has been a rewarding experience. I am also a thesis advisor to graduate students and enjoy that part immensely. I cannot imagine not teaching and hope to continue for as long as I can. For fun, I like to hike and play soccer. I also enjoy weightlifting and running. I love art galleries and anything 19th-century (e.g. impressionism and realism), expressionism, and surrealism. When I'm not cooking, I enjoy testing out new foods at a variety of restaurants especially sushi bars, Thai reatuarants, and Korean joints.
